Interlocking Seamed Belt
Xerox's puzzle-type interlocking seamed belt technology combines the low cost
and ease of manufacturing of seamed belt technology with the performance
characteristics of seamless belt technology; enabling high quality belt
solutions. Our innovative approach integrates novel seam design features,
fabrication processes and functional tuning of the adhesives and substrates to
achieve the operational performance of high reliability, extended life, and
maximum utilization of the belt at a lower cost than seamless technologies. The
unique manner in which we match the electrical and topographical properties of
the belt enable full utilization of the surface area for imaging, including
imaging on the puzzle-cut seam itself.
Technology Description
Xerox developed this technology specifically for the purpose of improving its
image transfer subsystems. It has enabled the use of extraordinarily large
belts while maintaining exceptional control of image quality through the use of
virtually invisible seams. This new development, as well as a wide range of
other related technologies, is being actively developed to address the need for
high quality, low cost belt solutions.
