Unlike other systems designed to work with a fixed currency set, Xerox’s ACD technology is extremely flexible with respect to the specific currencies it can recognize. ACD can be programmed offline to recognize and identify a broad range of currencies, making it suitable for use in multi-national products and services or sites encountering a broad range of, or rapidly changing, international currencies. Once programmed, Xerox’s ACD technology is able to detect a designated currency in complex backgrounds, independent of its orientation in the imaging field. Upon detection of a designated currency, ACD can prevent photocopying or printing, or perform other alerts and actions as required. ACD is amenable to software or hardware implementation and can be implemented without degrading system throughput or performance for most applications.
